Corbridge CC clinch promotion

CORBRIDGE have returned to the Premier Division of the Northumberland Cricket League.

A 17th straight league triumph in their nine wicket victory over Bomarsund saw them secure a top two finish with five games remaining.

They will resume hostilities next year with Tyne Valley rivals Stocksfield whose good run of form ended in defeat at Blagdon Park. Likewise, Kirkly tasted defeat in their trip to Tilside.

Over in the Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League, Tynedale were looking good for the win over Ryton but had to settle for a draw when they rain out of time due to a rain affected afternoon.

The seconds managed to complete their game with Ryton II and continue their promotion charge with a 37 run victory.

Ponteland slipped to fourth spot as a poor innings total of just 76 allowed Annfield Plain to leapfrog them and into second.
