Christmas cheer for Wallington

WALLINGTON aim to remain top at Christmas when they make the trip to Ashington Colliers in the Northern Alliance tomorrow.

Having jumped into first place with a fantastic 5-0 win over title chasing Killingworth Sporting, the Greens aim to continue their remarkable form this season which has seen them shoot up the table after winning the Division One crown last season.

Stocksfield, meanwhile, will look to build on their eye-catching 3-1 victory at previous leaders Whitley Bay A as they host a Carlisle City currently six points ahead of them in the table.

Both Hexham and Ponteland United could create some breathing space at the bottom of Division One as victories will cut second bottom Heddon further adrift.

Third bottom Hexham visit Cullercoats while Ponteland, who are currently level on points with Hexham, have the daunting trip to leaders Cramlington Town to face.

In Division Two, Chopwell are away at Seaton Burn, while Ryton and Crawcrook Albion head to North Shields in Division Two of the Northern League.

Prudhoe Town are hoping to make progress in the Wearside League Cup and they make the trip to Wolviston with the aim of getting the wheels of another cup run in motion.
