Allendale and Ryton meet after shocks

AFTER both causing shocks, Allendale and Ryton and Crawcrook Albion will do battle in the Hehxm and District Sunday League.
Promoted Ryton are leading the charts after two with fantastic 6-0 and 5-1 victories over Hexham Phoenix and Prudhoe Town, while Allendale caused a stir by defeating champions Haltwhistle Conservatives 2-0 on Tuesday evening.
Haltwhistle will look to put things right when they host Wylam on Sunday, their opponents on a high after their 5-0 success over The Falcon Prudhoe.
Stocksfield will look to make it three wins from three when they visit rivals Prudhoe Town, while Phoenix welcome Barrasford.
Prudhoe Social Club hope to continue their excellent start to Division Two, but will have their work cut out as they entertain neighbours Dr Syntax Prudhoe.
Bardon Mill are another team looking to make it three wins on the bounce and a home game with Hexham Hearts is next up.
Elsewhere, Phoenix Chopwell welcome Haydon Bridge Anchor and Warden Boatside play host to Swinburne Arms Stamfordham.

A workman was buried alive while digging a drain in the Prudhoe Urban Council's housing estate at Oaklands.
Workmates rushed to the aid of 50-year-old Richard Barclay, of Stocksfield, when the wall of the trench he was digging collapsed.
They managed to dig his head and shoulders free before finally pulling him from the earth. He was found to be suffering from shock and bruising.
